Resolved Question: My compaq laptop won't connect to the internet but at the bottom of the screen it says its connected.?

I've tried to reconnect to my network and others, i also tried to plug in my modem with a cable instead of using my wifi. I have restarted the computer many many times and even took the battery out a few times. It will open internet explorer but it says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" on every page i go to. Also anything else on my laptop that uses internet won't work. Please Help!!!...
